Week 14

Since I forgot to post the pictures I took of the process throughout the weekend, I'll just post the "finished" pictures instead.  Here you go!

Quarter round is down between the baseboards and finished floors in the living room, dining room, and hallway.

"Finished" bathroom!

The shower stall has the "membrane" down and the plumbing installed!

After 3 coats of the strongest primer I could find, the nicotine finally stopped bleeding through the ceiling!

In the downstairs bathroom we previously had a "drop-in" shower.  It was very small.  We wanted to replace it with a new drop-in shower, but couldn't find any small enough.  While demo'ing the bathroom we realized the wall cavity had been built out to accomodate the small shower.  Which meant we could put in a bigger shower.  But the space was odd-sized.  In order to maximize the shower space, and minimize price, we decided to tile the entire shower enclosure and make a "custom" shower.  All of these decisions were made in two days.

Here is the tile we've chosen for the floor of the shower (the red stuff), against the white wall tile we're also using for the walls of the shower.

The shower floor tile against the living room floor.  The floor in that bathroom will be refinished also, so it will look pretty much like this.

Downstairs bathroom.  Tile is completely up!  Still needs grout.
